Bob Russell Entomology Scholarship

Jake Wasdin

Jake Wasdin, is a graduate student at the University of Georgia, where he also received his undergraduate degree in Entomology. He has been an active member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, a member of many intramural teams such as frisbee, soccer, and badminton. He was an active member of the undergraduate Entomology club. Jake is currently studying under Dr. Sial in the UGA small fruits laboratory, investigating control methods for the relatively new invasive pest, the spotted wing drosophila.

Glenn H. Burnett Scholarship
Award Winners

The Glenn Burnett Scholarship was established to be awarded to GPCA member's children to support their attendance to a college or university. Since 1986 over $100K has been awarded.

Because of the success of the GPCA Golf Tournament,
this year there are 6 award recipients.

Ella Adams daughter of Robert Scott Adams Jr of Terminix Service Inc. Ella graduated from Cardinal Newman High School and will be attending Wofford College to study Business.

Kody Arnold son of Jimmy Arnold, former owner of Peachtree Pest Control and currently employed with Knox Pest Control. Kody graduated from Glynn Academy High School with honors and will be attending Mercer University where he will play football.

Margaret "Maggie" Borden, daughter of Richard Borden of Borden Pest Control. Maggie attended Lakeside High School in Evans, GA and will be attending the University of South Carolina.

Catherine Marratt, daughter of Ashley Marratt of Redcoat Services graduated from Saint Pius X Catholic High School and will be attending Georgia Southern to pursue a degree in Education.

Christian Sullivan, son of Steve Sullivan of Sullivan Sales & Marketing, graduated from Creekview High School and is attending Florida Atlantic University majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He plans to go to flight school and become a pilot.

Avery Taylor, daughter of Steve Taylor of Taylor Exterminating Co, graduated from Whitewater High School in Fayetteville, GA and will be attending Mercer University.
