If you are planning to attend NPMA’s Legislative Day please email kelly@gpca.org and let her know you plan to attend.  There will be a planning call for Georgia visits that we will include you in, if you let us know one month prior to the event.
Certified Operators can earn 8 hours of Computer Based Training (CBT) and Registered Technicians can earn 4 hours of Computer Based Training (CBT). CBT is training that is done by computer in a work-at-your-own-pace environment and ends with at least a 10-question quiz. 

If the training involves a live speaker giving information in real-time via Zoom, the event is NOT a Computer Based Training Event. It is counted as a live event. 

GPCA has WDO, HPC, and Cat. 41 hours available through the learning management system. You can look through those classes by going to the Learning Management System.  You can also reach these offerings by going to the GPCA website. And, as always, if you have trouble with either of these points of contact, you can reach out the a member of the staff by calling 770-417-1419.

 

Wildlife Events Coming Up in Georgia!

Bat House Installation Workshop
 

Date: Friday, December 1st
Time: 9 am – 12 pm
Location: Fort Yargo State Park, Group Shelter B
Cost: $50 per participant, lunch included

Details: The Georgia Bat Working Group with assistance from Habitat for Bats is hosting a Bat House Installation Workshop on Friday, December 1st at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, GA. The workshop is designed for Nuisance Wildlife Control Companies, consultants, and other individuals interested in learning to install bat houses for customers on their property to assist with nuisance bat mitigation or to provide native wildlife habitat. We will begin promptly at 9 am with a classroom presentation about the basics of bat houses, siting, and installation. We will install two different types of bat houses and installation options at the park during the second half of the workshop. Participants should gain the knowledge to determine what areas are suitable for bat house installation, what specifications are best for constructing bat houses, different options for purchasing houses, equipment needed for building and installation, and techniques for successful bat house installation.

Leadership Class Meets at Mellow Mushroom Marietta
This year's leadership class is wrapping up their activities with a meal at Mellow Mushroom in Marietta. Leadership is a program that helps upcoming pest control leaders hone their skills, make connections, and have practical applications that spur their careers and benefit their companies.
